OHSHC Manga Style

This review of style will be on Ouran High School Host Club.
I watched OHSHC a while back, but have recently begun checking out the manga.
Ouran is about a girl who stumbles into the room where the 'Host Club' is held. This is a club where rich girls go to pay and hang out with one of 6 guys, who all have different types. There's Kyoya (the cool type), Hikaru and Kaoru (who are twins, they are the mischievous type), Mori (the silent type), Honey (the shota type- meaning he's a cute little boy) and Tamaki (the king). When Haruhi finds their club she ends up breaking a vase that was worth a ton of money, and has to be a host in order to pay off her debt. She's the only scholarship student at the school, so she can't just pay for it. What they soon find out is that she isn't a boy, but a girl who wears baggy clothing and doesn't particularly care what anyone thinks about her. For the rest of the series she has to keep her secret and attempt to pay off her debt to the host club.

The cover for ouran is a bit weird. I think it's just the fact that I know ouran as an anime, so the clothing here is a little bit weird and makes it seem odd.

The host club is big fans of costumes and cosplay, so there are plenty of shots of them dressed up funny in the manga.

For whatever reason Ouran has a few weird head proportions or chin shapes. I've found them not only in the manga, but also the anime. I suppose it's part of the style, but i find it odd.

Tamaki makes a ton of interesting faces, which i decided were worthy of a bit themselves.

Here we have Tamaki moping, in what fans call the 'Emo Corner'.

These are some of my favorite drawings style wise.

There are a few group pictures of everyone in the club that I like a lot.

Here are some funny chibi emotions. I really like the range of emotions of Tamaki. It's pretty dramatic.

I really like the way that angry people look in this manga. Haruhi looks pretty menacing. Her eyes and mouth change and she looks a lot darker than usual.

The way that the author draws herself is interesting. She chose to make herself short and kind of grumpy looking. I find the author style interesting.

In the beginning of one of the chapters each of the characters was introduced. It was interesting that they included so much information, like the year, class, blood type, zodiac, and height.

One cool thing that the author of Ouran did was take a poll of which characters were the most popular and put it in the book. I personally have my own order of favorite characters, and I found it interesting to see what everyone else likes.

Ouran's author included a character design in the back of the book, which I found interesting and liked a lot.

Here is an interesting face that Haruhi makes. I like that her hair instantly becomes more messy with her surprise, which is typical of anime.

One thing that I like about manga is the use of symbols. What I mean by that is what is used when someone who isn't on the page is talking. So that the reader can tell who is speaking, there are usually symbols or something to determine that. In Ouran there are little chibi heads. In other manga I've seen symbols that make sense for the character or initials.

OVERVIEW:
Plot- I love the story of OHSHC. I've liked it from the beginning, and I've watched the anime at least 3 times. It's serious at times, but really very funny. It's a pretty easy going anime.
Style - I really like the style. I think there are some really pretty pictures in it, getting better as it goes along. The anime is really good with that too.
Read Again? - I would read this again and again. I'm still getting as many volumes as I can.
